Strava -Collecting Stats
What do you use to collect stats of your rides? I use 2 programs for my smartphones. Strava, and MyTracks.
Strava is a “Freemium” app for your phone. And I think it’s really good at what it does. I am limited in what I use though, because I use a program through my work called Go365, which is an incentive program to exercise and be more healthy. So I have a app on my phone, and I connect other apps to my Go365 account, and I get points for my workouts. Strava and Runkeeper are the only 2 cycling apps that are supported by Go365. I also use my Fitbit Charge 2, to get points for my rides.
MyTracks is a GPS logger that keeps track of stuff like speed, elevation, compass heading, location coordinates, and more. It is a smartphone app as well. I carry 2 smartphones when I ride, my iPhone 7+, and my iPhone 6+. I found that running 2 GPS “trackers” on one smartphone was too much, there would be “gaps” in my strava data.
I use the MyTracks program so I can insert my speed, elevation, GPS coordinates, and compass direction into my videos using a program called DashWare. It’s a nice feature, but I think it takes away some of the video quality, and isn’t really necessary, I don’t think… Comments?
